I really like how you pointed out the fact that this choice can de-escalate problems. Sometimes, when given a choice, the students feel like they are in control. Not giving them any choice in their actions can make them feel suffocated for like we are making them do things. If we as teachers set the options, we are satisfied with either result that the student makes. It seems like a win-win situation. I agree with you when you said that offering a change in location could be beneficial for a student. At times, we all need a change of environment. Our students with autism are no different.
