It's interesting that you say it could be because they were trying to let Jordan find his own way of completing the task; I had not thought about it like that. My first thought was that Jordan was purposefully wasting time to test the teacher. As I read more of the articles and watched the rest of the videos, I should not assume that Jordan was trying to waste time because like you said people with ASD have a different way of thinking sometimes. I am sure that the man working with Jordan knows him much better than the viewers so he knows how to interact with him. He probably was letting Jordan be in control because he knew that Jordan would then do better in completing the task.
