I really like your point about students needing more control in order to take ownership of their own learning and success. I also think that choice is a crucial element in teaching individuals with ASD. I noticed how in the Edgar video, Edgar was much more likely to read a book if it was about something that he was interested in, in this case trains. Allowing students to make these small choices seems like a way to give them some control and to allow them to take ownership of their education.
