I also felt amazed that Temple Grandin and Chris Varney had autism. While I do agree that there is a stigma and a negative connotation that comes along with autism, I also believe that it is important to know that these individuals have autism. I believe that these people make a huge impact on the world and on the way that people think about autism. The amazement that we feel about the fact that these people have autism seems like the first step towards eliminating the stigma. These people show that autism does not look one certain way and it definitely does not always look the way that society has stereotyped it.
