Build on Understandings
Sat May 30, 2015 14:37

I agree with you Ali, that it is important to take into consideration the many different perspectives that our students have to offer. When thinking about what a student is doing wrong, it can help us see their misunderstandings but if we look at what they are doing correctly, we can build on what they already understand. This could help bring a positive light to learning and further the motivation to learn. I also feel that it is a common goal of educators to understand how our students learn in order to be able to teach them. This brings up the idea that we have to really focus on individualizing our lesson plans to insure that each student is benefiting in a way that helps them learning unique to them.
