Hayden, I brought this up to my group in discussion in relation to the "Analysis of Reading Skills in Individuals with Asperger Syndrome" article. It seemed to me like they were making an assumption that every student with AS were almost exactly the same. That is incorrect. You are completely right: "If you meet one kid with Autism, then you've met one kid with Autism." Yes, students may have similarities, but it is not fair to any student to make assumptions about their needs. The assumptions that some teachers make have an effect on their students, which I believe can hinder them in reaching their full potential. Thanks for saying this!
