I totally agree with you. As a first year teacher I know that I will have preconceived ideas about my students based on their label. I want to be a teacher than reads "intellectual disability", and thinks "I can't wait to teach this student and watch them grow". want to be confident in my students abilities to be successful, so much that they will gain confidence and recognize their potential.
