Het Karley!

I would love to tell you about TEACCH. It stands for Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children but I think they aren't using that as much of a title anymore considering we are moving onto person-first language. It was a great experience to be exposed to children and adults with Autism because I had never worked with them before or even knew what ASD was. I was only a 17 year-old intern at the office in Asheville and the people there treated me with so much respect and allowed me to do more hands-on experiments than I thought I even could. I was able to observe an evaluation of child who was being considered as being on the spectrum, I sat in on a meeting with parents to address the next step in the diagnoses process and I went to many seminars that involved panels of adults with ASD or teachers who taught children/adults with ASD. I recommend TEACCH to anyone who has a clinic in there area because it truly is an awesome program. I love how you addresses our different teaching titles and noted how we will be working closely in the school system because like you don't know much about Adapted Curriculum I don't know much about General so I would love to chat sometime and share our experiences and concerns.
