I agree that this activity can be really helpful with students who are learning beginning consonant awareness. In the video, I do not think that the student's correctly matched all the pictures (from what I could see from the video). I think that this activity was geared toward helping the students understand that words can be paired with pictures, since they weren't exactly matching the words and pictures. If students knew letter sounds, I think it could be turned into a great activity to practice initial consonant.
