Great point! Sending books home is a fantastic way to help some of our students play catch up to those who have had many many early literacy experiences at home. Involving parents with the strategies you use in the classroom for shared reading can help them feel a part of their child's education! I love the idea of sending home a book with a little explanation of CAR to help them feel like they're contributing and get to see their child grow and progress.
