JR and Kyle question reply
Fri Jun 5, 2015 15:20

I think that free time is a big part of their daily routine. Allowing these students the freedom to choose to browse through books is a natural emergent literacy learning opportunity, which is important to their development of literacy skills. For these preschoolers, I don't know specifically what their day is like but I would imagine that the read alouds/ Who's at school activities that we saw in the videos are the types of lessons that they do all together. They're not necessarily sitting at desks but in chairs around the teacher. Other than that, I think their individual time with the teacher (Sammy matching names to pictures) is a structured part of their day and I'm sure that the other students then rotate doing different activities with the help of the assistants.
