Student Interest

I also noticed that the students were more engaged when they were personally interacting with the books. I think a large part of getting older students to focus on the book is to use a topic they are interested in. We have to know what our students enjoy and provide them with the materials about that topic to keep them engaged. Depending on the student, it could also be beneficial to allow the student to have choices when it comes to what they want to look at. A huge part of encouraging students to want to learn and to enjoy it at the same time is to let them learn about something they actually care about. Learning can be fun when the student has an input on the material.
