I remember the fourth grade writing test. We had prepared forEVER for the test. We had practiced all year long. We had all our pencils sharpened and we were ready to go. Then we got the prompt "Write about a place that is special to you" Oh my goodness of all the places I had in my life that were special. I chose the barn loft at my grandparents house. The barn loft I had never been in in my life. I chose it because I thought I could make it special. I remember the teacher reading over my shoulder and kinda rolling her eyes. I was a big talker (still am) but my thoughts were all over the place. In the end though, I must have gotten it organized and together because I made 4's. I couldn't spell worth a hoot, but I made a 4. After that I had more confidence because my teacher had more confidence in me. Sometimes in all things we just need one person who has confidence in us to make us feel more confident in ourselves.
