Beginning Reading Model

The importance of being read to is so significant in building a foundational success in reading. It is proven time and time again the effects of being-read-to are very obvious when a child begins formal education. Children who have had access to that rich book language and vocabulary thrive as beginning readers. Children who have NOT had those early reading experiences do not have the same advantages and typically don't begin reading as quickly as the children who have. I wish we could get all parent to realize the positive impact that reading to their children can have. Unfortunately, all parents don't have that type of interest in their children's education as priority.
