Writing is important

Like you, I spent a lot of time with a kindergarten student working on personal narratives. He loved to draw and was very artistic however when it came to writing about his story he struggled. Mind you he is DD along with speech/language. I worked diligently with him one on one and at times I could see his frustration but this year I can see that it really paid off. When he comes to see me this year, he can easily write a 3 to 4 sentence story with only minimal errors. He stills has a long way to go but the progress he made assures me he won't be very far behind compared to his peers.
