Forget Grammar

So never mind on the grammar books, right! I know that there is "grammar" in the listening/speaking goals in CCSS but that doesn't mean that we have to explicitly teach grammar. I'm so glad that you are so flexible to to make sure that you are doing everything that your students may need to be successful. You are willing to change things up to better student learning. I know that some teachers see the importance of teaching grammar so that is why I wanted to find the resources for you since you had mentioned it in the last discussion. Like I said earlier, my fourth graders had a difficult time applying grammar from the SF reading street and the DOL to their own writing. I bet that your students will get far better grammar instruction from conferencing with you and learning from your modeling than they ever would with DOL. I think you are doing a great job!
