After reading your response, I went back in and reread the part in the article that had those questions.

I have wanted to do the same thing with iPads and Smart Board. Calendar Math is such a huge part of our morning because so many topics are able to be covered and I wish that the students were able to have their own to complete together with us daily rather than waiting their turns to get to do the SmartBoard. I really feel that they would stay more engaged. We have tried a few things and nothing seems to be interactive in the way that the SmartBoard is that they could follow along.

I have spent some time in kindergarten this year and really think that there needs to be a weekly time where students are explicitly taught basics on the iPads. Our kindergarten teacher is not comfortable with them so they are only used for free time.

I also think we need to be using the same language for parts of the iPad so that as students move grade levels, we will all be on the same page.

Candi and I have uploaded some of the thinking maps and have used them as a class, but I have not used them on iPads in guided reading groups.

I feel that I come across apps or ideas either in this class or when talking with other teachers and then I don't come back to my class and do it. I either run out of time or don't write down what the idea was and how to use it. Sometimes, I am guilty of downloading it, using it and then not coming up with ideas on my own that could be used.
