Remington gave Alena an apologetic smile. “I’m pretty sure asking Boot would be the worst idea. Well, it’s the worst idea if we don’t have something to offer him, like a pastry or a baked good.” When she’d first come to Rocky Mountain International, she’d assumed Boot was possibly a ghost. By now, though, she’d come to question that conclusion. What exactly was Boot? He couldn’t possibly be a ghost with how many pancakes and pies he could consume on his own. Old as the wind was a way to describe him, but that didn’t explain what he was. It didn’t particularly matter, but curious minds wanted to know.

Looking around the room for someone who might know what was going on, Remington spotted her housemate Giovanni. She called his name a couple times, but he didn’t seem to notice. She turned to Alena. “Hold on.” The Draco carefully tore a page from the back of her notebook and crumpled it up into a ball, which she then tossed towards him. It bounced off her housemate’s nose before landing on the table in front of him.

“What?” Gio asked a little louder than necessary.

“What’s our project supposed to be on?” Remington asked, as if the question was obvious. What else would she be asking? Gio shrugged as an answer. The dark skinned girl sighed and probed further. “Did he ever say?”

“Nope. Guess it can be anything.”

“Cool, thanks.” Remington turned back to Alena and shrugged. She shook her head slightly at the offered candy, despite the sight of it making her stomach growl quietly. She couldn’t remember what she’d eaten for breakfast. Maybe an apple? “So I guess we’re just picking whatever we want. What’s something that could be done with really cool props?” She opened her textbook to the table of contents and slid it between the two of them. “Any ideas?”

“I don’t know a lot about the feminist movement,” Alena admitted. Alena wasn’t well versed on feminism. It had come up in class a little but Alena’s mind often drifted as new worries popped into her... more
