Alena let out a little sigh of relief when Remington confirmed that this would be the topic of their project and then began to rattle off a list of things to start things in ernest. Alena sat by her side diligently taking notes, a serious expression settling across the German girl’s face, only smiling at Remington's reassurance that soap would not be a contender when it came down to settling on props.

“We could do a skit!”

Alena’s eyebrows jumped up in surprise at Remington’s sudden burst of excitement and she abruptly let go of her quill and watched passively as it rolled to the edge of the desk. “A skit?” Alena scrunched her nose together in confusion, “Like a sketch - ah parody?”

Alena didn’t think there was anything funny about her (well not intentionally anyway- there was certainly a lot about her to laugh at) and didn’t feel that she had the comedic presence to pull something like that off. Allena had only taken part in one show at RMI, it had been in her first year and she had found the entire experience terrifying. Even though her role had been minor it had been scary to have all those faces staring up at her and knowing how important the show was to everyone else only increased her fear of messing up -making it more likely to happen. Once the curtain fell on the final night she had sworn never to put herself through something like that again. She had limited her participation to the pit this year and felt much more comfortable because of it. Alena was molded to fade into the background. She enjoyed the idea that she was helping other people shine whilst keeping herself nice and safe from stardust. She rather liked to think of her supporting position in group projects in a similar manner. A skit was far outside her comfort zone but Remington seemed so excited about it. Alena didn’t want to ruin it for the other girl.

“No- no. A skit is a great idea!” she forced her tone to match the enthusiasm of Remington’s and pulled her lips into a crude smile, “I just don’t know what we would do it on.”

I don’t know anything, she thought silently, hoping that Remington wouldn’t notice the panic behind her wide-eyed gaze.

Despite Alena not offering much help, Remington still managed a smile and a shrug. So she didn’t know much about the feminist movement or about Muggles. Well, good, they were here to learn. It would... more
