Then what am I going to carry?

It felt like, for a moment, Marissa and Danny were frozen in time. From what she knew of Danny, he was also quite competitive, and he was probably contemplating her next move. Marissa was very competitive, but the Aquila Quidditch Captain was human. Focus could be lost; distractions could happen. And right now, Marissa wasn’t too interested in being first place in the obstacle course anymore.

It seemed way more fun to stop Danny from being first place.

She grinned and followed after Danny when he started running again. Her log thudded in the pile soon after his, and she ran off to the tunnel. She took after Danny, casting a quick Engorgio on the entrance. She made sure to cast it a second time as she crawled through so it wouldn’t shrink on her halfway down.

Leaving the tunnel left her a little dirtier than she had started, but that was okay. Marissa was not against getting down and dirty when it was called for. There were a couple of past Quidditch practices where Marissa left looking more like mud than person.

She stretched her limbs for a moment before chasing after Danny once again. Next, they were heading to the forest, but she wasn’t going to let Danny stay ahead of everyone else. Marissa bounced between two options as she closed in on the Lyra, finally settling on one. Mid-run, the Aquila pointed her wand at Danny and cast a Trip Jinx on him, not slowing her running pace at all. That oughta slow him down!
