That's not my problem

He had just seen the next task up ahead and was wondering if he could pull off the bubble head charm after two months of no practice, when he tripped over nothing and the ground came rapidly up to meet him. Danny barely had time to fling his hands out before colliding with the dirt, and he didn't manage to stop his face from hitting the floor. He thought he recognised a trip jinx, and as he hurriedly hauled himself vertical again, the passing flash of red hair confirmed his suspicions. He had suspected the Aquila of not playing entirely fair, but he hadn't guessed she would be so malicious.

Dardanius tasted blood and touched his hand to his lips, painting his fingertips red. Swell..

Not wanting to lose any more time to his nemesis, Danny ran after her, casting the bubble head charm on himself as he neared the flames. It was incomplete, covering only his mouth and nose, but these were the salient features. The smoke stung his eyes but at least he could breathe as he ran down the fire-lined path. He was starting to think that Professor Rasnick might be a touch insane, but then he already thought that about most of the professors at RMI, not to mention several of the students.

Just ahead of him was Marissa, and just ahead of her was a great wall of flame blocking their path. It struck Danny that the auguamenti charm should douse the fire, allowing them to get by unscathed. It struck him that a better use for the charm would be to drench Marissa.

Aguamenti!” he cast, and although his voice was a bit distorted through the bubble charm (which now held a couple of drops of blood in the bottom from his split lip), a satisfying gush of water spilled forward from the tip of his wand, towards Marissa.

It felt like, for a moment, Marissa and Danny were frozen in time. From what she knew of Danny, he was also quite competitive, and he was probably contemplating her next move. Marissa was very... more

Another advantage of dousing Marissa, besides revenge, was that she was now wet in a sports bra. “What?” Danny asked, her words not matching his thoughts. Then he realised she was talking about his... more
          • My head is full of knowledge, okay? - Marissa, Mon Jan 16 15:38
If they weren’t next to a big thing of fire, Marissa would probably be shivering. How did Danny produce so much water with that tiny wand? The Aquila was almost tempted to stay by the fire a little... more
            • Okay. Just not useful knowledge. - Danny, Mon Jan 16 17:02
“I’ll fix your lip for you when we don’t need the bubble head charm anymore,” Marissa offered. “Thanks, but I’ll pass,” he said, warily. He was not certain she had eptitude in healing spells. Spells... more

How was she still cold? The water from his charm but have been icy . If he’d have known that, Danny wasn’t sure he would have gone through with it. Maybe. Dardanius himself was actually pretty warm,... more

Marissa could tell that her shivering was making Danny feel uncomfortable or something. She was a good actress. She wasn’t the best – she’d never do fancy stuff like her mom did, and she didn’t want... more
