Deagret was prone to causing chaos wherever she went--whether it was digging in dirt, or painting, or old sticky notes that fell from her books and onto the floors of the castle in numbers at a time. It came with being clumsy outside of the dance rooms; she focused so much of her elegance and grace into ballet that she'd pretty much given up trying to be poised and proper while not rehearsing. There was no point to it anyway.

She sat cross-legged on the ground, finding it less straining to just sit in the grass instead of bending down to reach the beans lower on the stems. Her fingers brushed against the soil and she frowned a little, finding the dirt dry and clumped together. With a sigh, she dusted off her hands and stood, reaching over for a small watering can before giving the thirsty plant a quick drink before returning to her spot and picking more beans, placing them into the basket next to her.

"I've always loved painting," she responded quietly. "But right now, I've taken on something that's probably a little too challenging when I don't have all of my normal brushes and paints. And it's not like I can go up to Pearl Street and see if there's an art store, considering that I'm a first year." Deagret turned toward Gigi then, a smile on her face. "That's a great way to distract yourself. And an even better way to keep your marbles in your head."

Nimble fingers finished another stem, and Deagret moved on to the next. She shrugged. "I used to help my dad tend the garden back home. We liked growing our own fruits and vegetables. Though, it was a little hard, due to the climate. I've been told I've got a green thumb, but honestly, it's just a matter of learning how to care for certain types of plants."

Point to Gigi for deducing Deagret was not a glove wearing gal when it came to gardening. In fact she just sort of delved into the veggie patch, getting herself unnecessarily grubby. Gigi was no... more

        • Can--can we do that? Is that legal? - Deagret, Thu May 16 20:29
"I'm from Massachusetts. Great in the summertime. But winter comes fast, and the snow even faster so growing stuff can be a little precarious. Last year, we got a foot of snow before Halloween," she... more
