How was she still cold? The water from his charm but have been icy. If he’d have known that, Danny wasn’t sure he would have gone through with it. Maybe. Dardanius himself was actually pretty warm, from the fire and the physical exertion, and he was wearing more than Marissa, who was suddenly standing right in his personal space. Sure, she did that all the time - that was one of her many Marissa qualities - but not usually when she was cold and damp and wearing so very little.

She shivered again, and the Lyra wasn’t sure at this point if she was still really cold or if she was just doing it to make him feel bed. Either way, it was working; he felt bad. He had seen his parents use a charm that dried clothes out before, but he couldn’t remember the spell, and he hadn’t cast it before, either. He supposed that Marissa didn’t know it, either - but again, this was Marissa, and Dardanius didn’t really understand how her mind worked sometimes. He still didn’t have a jacket to give her, but he could give her his t-shirt. As much as he liked it, and it was covered in mud and probably some perspiration by now, it might alleviate his conscience some.

“We could climb each other, I guess,” she suggested, which had been the conclusion than Danny had reached, too. He exhaled, because he was happy to give her a boost up the wall, but he wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about her faux-leather clad, moistened breasts in his face. Well that image pretty much made his mind up about something, anyway.

“Right,” he said, pulling his incredible yellow top off over his head and passing it to Marissa. “You put that on and stop whining about being cold.” He was as concerned about baring his sun-tanned torso as he was about further messing his hair by tugging the top’s neckline over it: not in the slightest. He crouched next to the wall so he was on one knee, and he held his hands up above his shoulders. “You stand on my shoulders and see if you can pull yourself up,” he instructed. He didn’t know exactly how or even if Marissa was going to get him up there, too, or how they were going to get back down the other side, but as their progression to the next stage necessitated some sort of action then Danny felt he was otherwise out of options.

  • Marissa noticed the wariness in his voice, which she found to be a little unfair. She said she was sorry, she meant it, and she thought it had come out very genuine. Danny clearly didn’t trust her... more

Marissa could tell that her shivering was making Danny feel uncomfortable or something. She was a good actress. She wasn’t the best – she’d never do fancy stuff like her mom did, and she didn’t want... more

Once Marissa was in his shoulders, Danny shakily stood, using the sheer face of the wall for support, raising his companion sufficiently that she could haul herself onto the top of the wall. That was ... more
