Useful how, exactly?

Dardanius had not been aware there were machines for exercising. Muggles had machines for everything, so he wasn't surprised, except that this information had not come up before, either in Cultural Studies classes or in conversation with his more Muggle-savvy friends. As he didn't even use traditional equipment for his exercise, he doubted the information was relevant to him, but maybe he'd ask Ruben about it one day.

“I don't use machines,” Danny clarified. “Or trees, for that matter,” he grinned. “I usually just swim or run to burn energy. Frankie works us pretty hard in Quidditch practise, and I do extra drills in the week.” Currently, Danny didn't ever set out to exercise for that sole purpose; he was naturally an energetic person. He swam because he liked it, he ran because it was easy, and he played Quidditch because it was interactive. Also cool. Exercise was a byproduct of these activities, not the aim. From the comments he made about muscle training, Danny suspected Ruben was far more interested in the actual exercising aspect of whatever activities he engaged in.

“Do you have any interest in Quidditch?” He tried not to sound skeptical; just because he'd never seen or heard Ruben demonstrate any interest in the sport, he didn't know enough about him to draw informed conclusions. “All of us play,” he referenced his own friendship group but hen suspected Ruben might not understand who was included, sontonclarify, he listed, "Me, Holland, Emmett, Rose and Marissa." The girls were obviously not at the Lyra team practises but that didn't stop them all playing pick-up games now and then. “Maybe you should play with us some time,” Danny suggested. They didn't play with Bludgers in the casual games they threw together, which was usually down to numbers but often made for less painful exercise. Already the fleeting image of Ruben as a bat-wielding opposing Beater was sufficient to prevent Danny from suggesting he try out for the Aquila team.
