Marissa Kendrick (5th Year Aquila)
Let me add another log to that
Thu Jan 12, 2017 22:45

Whenever a professor gave Marissa the opportunity to wear something besides the school uniform of robes and whatever, she absolutely followed through. It wasn’t like she particularly paid attention to the dress code in the first place. Workout clothes, though, were fun for the dancer. She owned a lot. Her closet was pretty expansive in the first place, but she didn’t get to break out any workout or dance clothes as often as she liked. She danced at Rocky Mountain International when she could. She’d done at least one talent show during her time at the school, but they kept doing really, really boring musicals. She knew it wasn’t Garen’s fault, entirely, but God she couldn’t stand most musicals.

It was just painfully unlikely she’d ever see some Ryan Scott Oliver or Pasek and Paul at her school.

Eventually, the red head made it out onto the Pitch in a faux leather black sports bra and black yoga pants. She expected to get a few more freckles on her already covered face and was thankful that they mostly stuck to her face, arms, and shoulders. She hadn’t managed to tame her hair, which refused to stay up, but her wild mane was as tied back as it could possibly be. Her wand was shoved down into the makeshift ponytail. Marissa doubted that Professor Rasnick would make her go back to Aquila and put on a shirt; she’d never gotten that vibe from the Defense professor.

As Professor Rasnick explained the course, Marissa couldn’t help but grin. There was a little bit of a competitive streak in her. It didn’t always apply to her coursework, it more applied to Quidditch, but it was nice when the two aligned.

Professor Rasnick blew her whistle and Marissa ran at full speed towards the course, laughing. It wasn’t hard to transport the log where it needed to go. A quick wingardium leviosa did the trick, and she managed to be quick without accidentally slamming the log into anyone. Once she finished that, she was ready for the next part of the course.

She noticed Danny Dubois ahead of her. He chose to solidify the mud than get dirty, and he seemed to be concentrating pretty hard on it. Marissa wanted to use the more solid mud, too, and that competitive streak in her gave her an idea. She made a loud noise, something like a cackle, and then actually laughed when he almost stumbled. This gave her the chance to catch up to him using the solid mud with her log in tow.

“That was me, trying to divert your attention. See if you’d fall,” her green eyes twinkled playfully, “And it almost worked!”
