Kaye decided to show up to Spellwork on a day when everyone would be there. This would have been the best time to skip class. The crowd was big enough that her absence would have gone unnoticed. She was good at Spellwork; she actually was good at all of her classes. She couldn’t help that she got bored easily and didn’t feel the need to come to classes all the time.

The pale fourth year sighed and leaned against the wall. She wasn’t sure what side of the room to stand on at first, but eventually chose the right side. Sometimes, fourth years were the oldest people in the classes. Other times, fourth years were the youngest students in class. Ruben was on this side, and so was Emmett, so she moved to the group that she felt familiar with. It looked like Ruben, who was the only person she’d really gotten to know, was also getting familiar with their fellow students. Or, well, a specific student.

She did her best not to stare at the two. Holland was really cool; Kaye just hadn’t managed to talk to them yet. Everyone at Rocky Mountain International was just so busy. They were involved in all of these extracurricular things. There was a dueling club, which Kaye wasn’t sure she had the talent for. Then there was the Drama Club, which she knew she didn’t have the performance talent for, but she could maybe help with makeup and stuff next year. There was also Quidditch, which was another thing she wasn’t interested in. That was partially because she wasn’t interested in Quidditch, but also because Aquila’s captain was that red headed fifth year. Kaye hadn’t decided her opinions on the older student. Being on her Quidditch team didn’t sound like the best place to start.

Professor McKindy was talking, and Kaye was half listening, when suddenly her wand was summoned out of the back pocket of her black, zippered leggings. Huh. Well, that made class a little more interesting. She was showing beginning signs of mastery for wandless magic. She could get first year spells to work about seventy percent of the time. Her Chicago school hadn’t started focusing on wandless magic, so this was her first semester of school where she was expected to work on it in class. She thought she was doing pretty well, considering.

She stopped leaning against the wall when the students started finding partners and straightened her shirt. She was wearing a red top that fell off her shoulders over a sheer, black lace tank-top, and her normal combat boots. The heels made her a little taller, which was nice. She’d be working with someone in first, second, or third year. Since she wasn’t the best with wandless magic, she hoped a third year would approach her. That’d be the best scenario to get this done quick.

She played with a strand of black and blue hair while she waited to spot a suitable partner. She wished she’d chosen a shorter wig for this lesson; who knew what kind of crazy things they’d have to do behind those doors? Her makeup, purple lipstick and liner with black mascara, was charmed to stay, so she didn’t have to worry about that.

Before she could pick a partner from the crowd, someone said something from behind her. Hopefully, it would be a third year.

  • Look Ma, No Hands! [Spellwork, ALL YEARS] - Professor Aaron McKindy, Fri Apr 7 17:35
“So this is a little bit of an unusual lesson,” Aaron McKindy said, entirely unnecessarily. It was unnecessary because all of the gathered students had already realized that, presumably once they... more

“Hi, Circe!” Spellwork was one of the only lessons Marissa Kendrick was consistently early to. She liked chatting with Aaron about Quidditch things, or about the kids, or other random subjects she... more

        • We could look there - Holland, Fri Apr 14 15:42
Oh, it was Hunter. Holland liked Hunter well enough—in fact, they didn’t truly dislike any of the underclassmen—but he was very—well— Hunter . Holland was not entirely sure what they meant by that,... more
          • What's in the Box?! - Hunter Ioma, Fri Apr 14 21:33

            • Looks like another puzzle to me - Holland, Sat Apr 15 19:02
Hunter was unsurprisingly optimistic about doing a spell he couldn’t remember learning. The sixteen-year-old left Hunter to it and focused on the lock. They knew a bit about how locks worked; Monty... more

        • Does that mean we each get one? - Russell, Mon Apr 10 18:51
The younger boy was dressed pretty formal. Russell didn’t understand why some students always wore their robes to classes. Was it actually a part of the dress code? He couldn’t remember - well, he... more

Danny reassured her that the newly sealed doorway was nothing unexpected. At least, it would've been reassuring, if it weren't for the fact that Marley wasn't actually worried about it. They had... more
    • No fingernails, either - Claudia Dubois [2nd year Cetus], Sat Apr 8 13:55
