Connor Farnon
Are you sure about that?

As usual, Connor was dressed neatly, in khakis and a polo shirt with his uniform robes open and sporting a backpack full of school supplies. He had eaten a rather bland lunch - a cheese sandwich with some apple slices - and was ready for Spellwork. Or rather, as ready as he could ever be. Unlike his siblings, Connor lacked what he considered to be an inherent skill (or at least, the drive to create such skill) at Spellwork. Although he hadn’t given much thought as to which courses he would be dropping in the upcoming year after his determinative exams, Connor felt that Spellwork was a good contender. He didn’t particularly like Professor McKindy, in addition to disapproving of his life choices. However, Connor also wasn’t sure which classes to keep. He wasn’t particularly skilled in any of them, aside from perhaps Magizoobotany. But Magizoobotany seemed useless for any line of work, and Connor wasn’t sure what line of work he was to go into. From his understanding, his father did something with stocks and bonds but Connor wasn’t entirely sure what those were or what he did. Unlike other pureblood families, the Farnons didn’t particularly have a family career that was expected. In fact, his father had changed careers at least once in Connor’s life. It made Connor feel a bit out of place at times.

Today’s lesson seemed fairly straightforward and Connor took diligent notes on McKindy’s instructions. Their goal seemed a bit childish, particularly with the vague promise of ‘something’ happening once they had completed their assignment. It sounded suspiciously like bribery to Connor, and Connor was above bribery. He would do his best work under his own steam, and was offended when someone implied otherwise. Of course, Connor supposed that his classmates were perhaps not as mature as he was, and might need bribery.

As they had been instructed to work in pairs, Connor slipped his notebook and quill back into his backpack and picked it up, prepared to begin his usual quest to avoid Marley as much as possible. In fact, he saw Claudia, and with a small wave began to approach her. With their - arrangement - only recently sorted out, he hadn’t had very much time to become accustomed to it, but Connor assumed that working together in class was still something that was permitted.

A touch preoccupied with his approach to Claudia, Connor didn’t notice there was a stool in front of him until he caught his foot on it and tripped, falling flat on his face and knocking into someone as he did so.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized, sitting up and brushing himself off, ears turning pink in embarrassment. “I should be more careful.”

          • We haven't even got started yet! - Kit, Mon Oct 16 08:59
