I'm sure this was exactly the point

Remington managed to keep her desire to immediately delve into a conversation about the trustworthiness of memories to herself, minus the one whispered response to Claudia. See, this is what she was excited for as an older student. Classes were going to start covering theory. It wasn’t just basics anymore. This required deep thought and analysis. There’d be debates and research and difficulties to consider. Challenges were everything she wanted. If the rest of her classes levelled up like this, then she was even more excited than before. Of course, that meant her decision to cut down her schedule was about to become more difficult than before, but that sounded like an excellent problem to have.

As Professor McKindy revealed what they were to do in class, her suspicions about their task were proven correct. They were going to delve into memories with their partners. Remington was a little surprised. Maybe Professor McKindy should have told them the task before picking partners. She didn’t know exactly where she stood with Claudia, and she didn’t want to cause any problems. Perhaps she’d volunteer to go first.

But what memory would she show? Remington didn’t have anything big she wanted to show off. She’d just like to successfully complete the assignment, so she’d probably focus more on the spell than the memory she wanted to show. She could pick something mundane. Thankfully, she didn’t have anything she didn’t want to share with Claudia, except for maybe self-defense club. They didn’t have many rules about it, but one of them was that they don’t share the club with others. Or, at the very least, they weren’t to do so without a big group consensus.

She still hadn’t landed on a memory when Claudia spoke again. Remington blinked brown eyes at the fifth year. Before she could respond to the Cetus’ statement, Claudia continued, and Remington automatically nodded in agreement. She wasn’t entirely sure what Claudia wanted to show her, but she knew that the Cetus wasn’t necessarily an open book. If she wanted to share something with Remington, then it must be important.

“Yes. Yeah, Claudia, of course.” Remington’s agreement was sincere. She might be able to guess what this was going to be, but she certainly wasn’t about to assume. “Whatever you want to show me.”
