Sounds like a blast

Gigi nodded. Vivica said she was from London. Not the same as rural Herefordshire but good old Blighty nonetheless. If pronunciation wasn’t an issue for Gigi, her fellow Brit shouldn’t have trouble in that respect either. The confidence thing was definitely seeming more likely, the Aquila thought, as her Cetus counterpart practiced the incantation a couple of times. She seemed a little lacking in the confidence department, which made Gigi want to look out for her - she had this thing for loving the runt of the litter; for supporting the underdog. Vivica was also not wearing robes, which made Gigi appreciate her a teeny bit. She was also rocking a gothic vibe, but that didn’t sway the Aquila’s opinion in either direction. Just because her partner didn’t dress like a Barbie girl, didn’t mean she wasn’t as annoying as one.

After a brief interlude, Vivica tried the spell again, and this time the expected red light ejected from her wand, and before Gigi knew it, her own wand slipped seamlessly from her grasp, clattering to the floor like Vivica’s had moments earlier. Her partner squealed, and Gigi laughed again, then whooped once loudly in celebration. “You did it!” She said gleefully, stopping to collect her own wand as she crossed to Vivica and slapped her shoulder in a celebratory gesture. “Vivica and Gigi, fine young witches in training,” she grinned.

“So what brings you across the ocean to RMI?” she asked curiously. “Hogwarts is supposed to be a good school, right?” Gigi was hiding from her mother’s reputation, and that was just fine by her. It seemed unlikely that there were two girls in the year whose parents had been fired from the school in their native country - not that Gigi minded, she was stoked to be educated abroad - so what other reasons were there for leaving Europe and settling on Colorado for seven years?
