Professor Rob Hier
How about I step in?

Typically Rob Hier ate in his quiet apartment suite, where he lived with his wife and their newborn daughter. This was partially because he was pretty sure that Celia would murder him herself if he managed to give himself pneumonia from aspirating again (she still hadn’t forgiven him from last time, which Rob thought was distinctly unfair as it was the direct cause of them getting married, which Celia seemed to be pretty happy with), but it was also partially because he had a newborn daughter. Judith Elizabeth Hier. He had already taken to calling her Jude, which Celia didn’t seem to mind overly much. Rob was completely enamored. She was so small and precious and he loved her entirely, even when she dirtied her diaper immediately after he had changed it. One of the RMI house-elves whose name he entirely forgot had taken to appearing in their suite, often fortuitously with a new stack of diapers, and seemed to be almost as enamored with the little girl as Rob himself was.

Anyway, apparently he had a ‘job’ or something and he was supposed to ‘do it’ or something and part of that job entailed watching the Finer Diner during the time periods where most students ate, just in case of some sort of problem. Typically problems at RMI involved explosions or similarly disruptive events, and Rob had figured that one way or another he would notice if something was going wrong when it went wrong, and had opted to read a book about the history of pharmacological potioneering instead of actually watching the dining hall.

Aaand then he heard a loud bang.

With a sigh, Rob closed his book and tucked it into the back pouch of his wheelchair before wheeling off the raised staff dais in the front of the room and towards the source of the noise. It wasn’t long before the professor figured out what it was - there was a girl pointing a wand at Lucien Dubois, and it didn’t look like it was in the friendly way.

Admittedly, Lucien would probably benefit from being taken down a few pegs, but Rob was fairly certain that it was his job to make sure that nobody got too extensively injured outside of the classroom, so there they were. Knowing that he was unlikely to be able to fling any two irritable students with a wave of his wand like Professor - Aaron McKindy, Rob had preemptively stocked up on potentially useful potions that he carried in small glass vials. There was an immobilizing one that he was particularly excited to try out, as well as one that made people stick to whatever surface they were touching. The latter was supposed to be a prank potion, but the man was pretty sure that it could be useful in stopping two students from flinging themselves at each other. But as much fun as he thought it would be to stick Lucien Dubois to the floor, Rob supposed he should probably try and sort the kids out before experimenting on them.

“What’s going on here?” Rob asked dryly, shifting his gaze between the two students. He had seen the girl around but didn’t know her - she was clearly in the upper years and not taking Potions, which meant he’d had no reason or interest in knowing her name until now. “Because it looks like shenanigans, and shenanigans are strictly disallowed before noon.”

“Good.” Lucien appreciated approval. He wasn’t the type of person to actively seek it, he thought, but he wasn’t about to turn it down, either. However, the approval of the Rolling ‘Professor’ did... more
