Matching you

“Robes it is!” Rose said definitively, giving her hot cereal a stir. By this point ‘hot’ might have been a little bit of a strong adjective for the congealing lumps in the bowl in front of her; the fifth year had been moping over her breakfast for awhile. With a grumpy sigh, she pulled out her wand and flicked it, muttering a quick spell that made steam rise once more from her bowl. Rose stirred it some more as the lumps returned to their original, liquidy state. She tucked her wand back into the side pocket she’d magicked on to the olive capris she was currently wearing. The side pocket was long enough for a wand to fit comfortably and secure enough for it to not fall out, while also remaining loose enough that it was mostly unlikely she’d have some sort of accident and transfigure her leg into a monkey or something.

Of course, when it came to accidental magic Rose rarely had to rely on her wand acting up. Since she had started training with Ruben the frequency of her accidental magic had gone down, and it had already diminished before as she got nonverbal and wandless magic down more and more. In the past week she’d had three episodes - more than usual - but she could easily attribute that to a certain sixth year that would remain nameless. Plus, Ruben was stuck in suspension hell so it wasn’t like they were doing any training anyway.

“So how long have we been together then, Danny-dearest?” Rose said in a sing-song voice, putting her spoon back down. “Do tell me all the details.”
