Rose said classes were ‘okay’ but she didn't sound very sure about that. Maybe she really liked school and was trying not to sound like a swot, or maybe she was really really bad at classes and she didn't want to admit that. Anyway she said about the electives and Myffi nodded. They would be new so she probably would be a bit behind in her elective class, but at least she only had to catch up on one year instead of four, seeing as electives were only picked up in fourth year. “I'm taking Magical Sciences,” she said; she had already chosen the class when her application had been accepted and she had bought the textbook, too. “All the others sounded the same,” the Welsh girl explained the logic behind her decision. “It’s like fortune telling, or fortune telling with numbers, or fortune telling with symbols. I don't think I want to know about the future anyway;” she said, fiddling with the ties on one of her friendship bracelets. “I like surprises.”

“I'm not very interested in being an Animagus,” Myfanwy said. “It's sort of cool, to turn into an animal, but it's not very useful, is it?” She didn't really expect an answer. “Do you know what animal you’ll be?” She didn't know very much about animagus transfiguration but she thought maybe sometimes you knew your animal first and maybe sometimes you didn't but that was about it, really. Myffi liked animals but she didn't really want to be one.

It sounded to her like RMI might be fun place to live. Maybe she had found the coolest person in the school already, but Rose had a job and a best friend and she played Quidditch and she liked classes and she was being an animagus. It was a lot for one person. It sounded like there were going to be lots of things for Myfanwy to do, which was excellent because she didn't like to sit around and do nothing. All she needed was to make sure the food was organic and responsibly sourced, and have an excellent roommate, and then everything would be settled.
