Myfanwy Owen
I can help!

Going to the commune in California for midterm had been really interesting. For one thing it wasn't even cold there, not like back home in Wales when they'd been snowed in for days at a time over winter. For another they didn't exactly celebrate Christmas in the commune because nobody was religious, apparently. Myfanwy’s own family hadn't really been religious either, but they still celebrated Easter and Christmas and she knew about the bible and everything because it was taught in school, but she wasn't sure she really believed in any of it. Anyway they still had their own little Christmas but it had been very small because not even the people from back home in Wales could send Christmas presents because the post was too expensive and they were all Muggles so they didn't even have owls, and Myffi hadn't made any real new friends at school yet. She was friendly with Rose and with Holland especially but they were already part of their own little friendship clique and while they were nice enough people it would probably be better for Myffi to try to make friends outside of their group. Which was a shame because that Emmett was well lush.

Anyway, being back at school was more familiar than being with her family and all the other people she didn't really know and Cledan had a boyfriend so that was very strange, too. Clean hadn't had a boyfriend since Kenneth about three years ago and that had been an absolute catastrophe. This new one was called Rowan and Myffi liked him because he was a vegan so he didn't think she was strange at all for her own food preferences and he was really nice actually with helping her to find enough to eat. She hadn't eaten so much the whole time she'd been away at school.

Now she was back, Myffi looked glumly at the food on her table, it's origins unknown. She had a few packets and boxes of meals to see her through the first week, and she started back at work at the weekend anyway, but it was frustrating to not be able to just help herself to the food here like she could over midterm. Why were people so opposed to looking after their planet, anyway? It just didn't make sense.

Myfanwy poured herself a glass of water and opened a bag of raisin cookies she had made at the commune. They crumbled a bit but they were pretty tasty. She could have eaten them in her own room but she was hoping to mingle a bit more and maybe make some more friends this side of term. That's when someone asked if they could sit down.

“Yes, of course, hello,” she said with a smile, maybe getting her greetings a little muddled up as she guessed the seating chart comment was a joke. She didn't recognise the boy that spoke to her, and it seemed unlikely there would be a person her age she had completely overlooked or forgotten entirely over the holidays, so she guessed he might be a transfer, like her. That would be nifty. “Would you like a cookie?” she offered, her Welsh accent as strong as t had been when she first attended RMI a few months ago. She held the paper bag out for the newcomer to take one if he liked. “They’re free of dairy, gluten and sugar and they’re organic,” she added enthusiastically

Myffi was relieved to discovered that winged horses didn't need their wings clipped to stay in a ranch. She'd never considered boundary charms, but then she'd never had a reason to. You had to be... more
