The kid Caleb had managed to sit next to was invariably awesome. The older student laughed and wondered if Sam was foreign. Probably. “Nice to meet you, Sam,” the Lyra answered with a smile. “I am Caleb,” he addressed the introduction and shook the offered hand. “The new Lyra around!”, Caleb’s smile never leaving his face. However, his eyes began wandering around the Finer Diner looking for something to eat, but instead of finding something scrumptious to satisfy his hungers his eyes ended on Sam’s feet.

Were his sneakers glowing? Caleb blinked a couple of times.

“Sam, your sneakers are awesome,” he complimented before leaning to the right and grabbing a plate of spaghetti and meatballs that a house elf was parading about. It smelled delicious, but it was missing something key: garlic bread. Thankfully, another house-elf passed with a small tray of the bready goodness. Jackpot! The fifth-year old smiled and snatched a couple of mini loaves and set them in his spaghetti plate. It smelled delicious!

The blonde new Lyra was excited to start this new adventure. He hadn't hated his former school, but it had been very small, smaller than RMI even, and Caleb preferred to to be surrounded by a large number of people. Besides, since the school was international he was sure his knowledge of other cultures would grow.

He took a bite of his food before addressing a very pressing question, “So Sam, are your sneakers Muggle or Magical?” The blonde Lyra was curious about the charm the footwear could have. It had a seriously awesome effect! It wasn't something he would wear, but it worked for Sam for some reason. Caleb wondered about the charm they had used, because it probably had a bit of complexity to it. Yes, casting a charm was easy, but adding the effects of on and off and other things to make it work required meticulous work. His father always talked about how charms work could be challenging. However, he also knew that Muggles had a similar effect with lights and other stuff he didn't fully understand.
