Keith Allen
No more disappearing boy
Sun Jul 8, 2018 14:21

Keith Allen had felt like he had disappeared the last term. In truth, RMI had been a struggle for him. The coursework and homework had been a bit much for the then eleven-year-old to grasp. Magic hadn’t come as natural to him as science did. In truth, he blamed his mother’s lack of imagination for this. Since he had been swallowed whole Keith had made literally no friends, even his roommate Jesse Keller was basically a stranger. The now the second year had kept to the Draco library most days after classes and meals often falling asleep at the whichever table he had been working on.

The strawberry blonde had gone home at the end of term tearful. He had been confident he’d have to repeat his first year, and he really didn’t want to be held back. Heck, at that point he didn’t ever want to return to RMI. When he had told his father Charles, he’d rather be a Muggle Charles had sat him down and after a long conversation and of course, bringing in his mother Helen it was decided that Keith would move in with Charles.

All this summer Charles had tutored Keith, even sometimes allowing him to do magic in their apartment. Charles had taken Keith to magic only places and fully allowed the boy to live in the magical world. This had made Keith wish his parents had done this before last term. He felt more prepared to join the magical school this term. Happily, he was now the second year and vowed to actually leave the library and make friends. Hopefully, it wasn’t too late.

Keith made his way over to the Draco fire after pushing his trunk against the wall wearing his school robes open. Under them, he wore a Quidditch t-shirt for the team of the Four Corners Chupacabras. It was Charles’ favorite team and now Keith’s. His strawberry hair was still cut in an undercut, and he had grown a few inches losing some of his baby fat.

The boy’s hazel eyes scanned the room and saw the first years come in. He was glad it wasn’t him this term. He had hated having every eye on him, so he smiled at them, hoping that a friendly face in the crowd made them at ease.

After the speech, he waited for his favorite food to come by. Somehow RMI made the best crunchiest fries ever, and once the tray came by, he grabbed two helpings. “Hey!” He said to the person next to him. “Did you know RMI has the best fries?” he then held out one of the helpings to the person.
