Is that sarcasm?

DJ set the magazine down it would be rude to read it now especially since he was new to the school and let’s admit this he needed friends here at RMI. He wouldn’t forget his friends at his old school but new friends were needed here so he didn’t go crazy and talk to himself like his Grandpa on his mom’s side.

The boy introduced himself as Dakota. “Nice to meet you, Dakota.” He said with a nod. The kid was already grabbing a roll so he didn’t reach out to shake hands. Dakota was a mouth full of a name he kind of felt bad for the kid being stuck with a name like that but he was old enough to shorten it by now if he wanted to. Personally, DJ would’ve gone with Koda instead of Dakota. Who wanted to be named after a state? In his mind, DJ could already hear the joke his dad would make if he ever mentioned the kid. North or South? Jonas Finn would die laughing at himself DJ was positive.

Dakota had gestured at the magazine and asked if the dark-haired man was his dad. “Close!” DJ exclaimed. “He’s my Uncle. My Dad wasn’t much for the spotlight like Uncle Riley.” According to Uncle Riley, Dad could’ve made it big if he had stuck to music but dad was lame and joined the military. Sure, he met mom there but having two parents in the army sucked sometimes.

He once had to spend a full Summer at Nana Rose’s because they had been deployed and Uncle Riley at the time lived the smaller apartment in NYC. Nana Rose was so boring and a Muggle as where his Uncles and Stepfather. They all just watched sports and talked about golf. Uncle Riley had called them White Bread meaning they were all boring and DJ tended to agree.

“Have you seen his movies?” DJ asked referring to his Uncle. He had to be careful according to Dad and Uncle Riley some people would take advantage of the fact that he had a famous Uncle and he had seen the dark side of girls at his old school once they found out. They had tried to love-bomb DJ and he had instantly shut those people out of his friend group. Most of his friend group had ended up being wizard borns since most of them didn’t give a crap about who his Uncle was.

The fourth-year took another bite of the veggies and really wished he had sat at another table. Next time he’d know for sure to not care if people were sitting at the table but go to one serving better food then this one. If he wasn’t talking to Dakota he’d get up and move but again didn’t want to seem rude.
