What was she supposed to do with this?

Really, Remington loved having information. Research was one of her top five favorite activities. Possibly even top three. She loved practical applications of learning, she loved listening to Bruno Mars, and she loved research. Coffee and hanging out with Drew would probably round out the list, but the top three consistently included Bruno Mars and research. Everything else was rather variable.

This, however, was not what she wanted. Knowing what had been going on with Dade was one thing, but learning it this way - through the grapevine rather than from her friend the Cetus in question - felt wrong. And while she now had the information, she didn’t know what to do with it.

She couldn’t go up to Dade and tell him. He - she - they - Dade obviously didn’t want her to know, which is why she hadn’t until right now. It wouldn’t repair their friendship at all, if Dade knew that she knew. Honestly, it would possibly make things worse. She already made the Cetus paranoid enough; knowing that she had this knowledge wouldn’t do anything but cause more panic.

The Draco also had no idea for how to help Claudia with this, either. “I do trust you,” she said without rolling her brown eyes (an incredible feat at this point, really, because so many people around her were acting SO STUPID sometimes), but other than just saying it over and over, what was she supposed to do? No one was listening to her. They were just… wrapped up in their feelings. She could understand that, but it was still incredibly frustrating.

And clearly Drew was frustrated too, because he just up and left. Remington took a deep breath, then let it out through her nose. Alright then, guess we’re editing for Rocky Voices later. It would have been really nice to scratch that off of her incredibly long to-do list. She could probably edit hers without him, but still. When would everyone just chill and maybe get along again? It would be incredibly convenient for everyone if that could happen.

Not wanting to seem upset with Claudia - because she wasn’t, not really - the darker skinned girl didn’t get up to leave the library and instead pulled out her Arithmancy textbook. She’d decided to drop the class next term, but it felt wrong not to finish this year out. “I think I’m going to try and finish some of the reading for the upcoming lesson. We can work on it together, if you want. But if you want to leave too, I understand.”

Yet again, Drew was overwhelmingly glad that Remington was there and was a normal human person who could look at what was going on and use normal human logic to figure out what they should do. It... more
