Making it even more awkward!
Wed Dec 5, 2018 18:42

DJ’s day had been uneventful besides Professor Luksa ranting about chess being the best game in both the wizarding and Muggle worlds for the whole class. DJ was only taking Divinations because it seemed like an easy class. Mom and Dad had both discouraged it but he figured it wouldn’t matter in the long run. After this year he might drop it because he could start the animagus classes. He honestly couldn’t wait to start that class with Professor McKindy but he could wait till next term.

After classes, he changed his clothes. For classes, he tended to wear fatigue pants that he had charmed all black. The fatigues were nice for practical classes. They were stretchy enough to move around in classes and also had more than a few pockets and he always wore a short sleeved t-shirt of whatever color he decided that day. His school robes were usually shoved into his bag just in case a Professor suddenly became strict about it. For now, though he was in his normal jeans and a hoody. This was a maroon hoody that made his eyes stand out more than normal.

He dropped off his bag just grabbing his notebook, which held his half-written essay for Spellwork (and the drawing of Remington and an unopened letter from his girlfriend but those things were not on his mind.) Unlike some students at RMI DJ had embraced Muggle things for his school work. The spiral notebook held two pens in the metal spiral.

The fourth-year entered the library made his way to the section he needed. He grabbed a few books on spellwork technique and scanned the library. Usually, DJ would head to his own table but he spotted Remington by herself. He smiled as he decided to sit with her. She looked like she had gotten a care package and DJ was a bit jealous. While his parents were doting he would admit sometimes they just didn’t have time to send more than a letter they both had written. He got it being in the Army and developing hexes was time-consuming and he knew his parents loved him.

He was just sliding in the seat across from her when she began to blush. She was even cuter when she blushed DJ thought. She was fast though she picked up the cookies trying to distract him with them. DJ’s eyes flickered over the safe sex pamphlet and laughed. “Cookies are a good start Remington, but your pamphlet’s got nothing on how my family introduced safe sex to me.” He teased back. DJ wasn’t embarrassed by anything sexual, to be honest. Mom and Dad had made jokes about it since he could remember and on top of that Uncle, Riley took him to gay pride every year since he was ten.

“When I announced I had a girlfriend for the first time my Uncle Riley sent me a large box full of Muggle and Wizarding contraceptives. My favorite part was the moving pamphlet that read aloud how to put on condoms. I was twelve. Sex was the furthest thing for my mind.” DJ had laughed and set the box of condoms in his trunk. He was awfully glad that the Uncle Riley had charmed them to never expire when he needed them right before winter break. Ella had insisted they lose their virginity together and DJ had felt like he had too. The one time had been okay but he was sure there had to be more to sex.

“But I will take a cookie.” He said with a smile as he began to flip through his notebook looking for his essay.
