It depends on the question

Remington immediately took note of the charm DJ used. She was a super organized person already and loved adding more tools to her arsenal. There were a few people she could imagine needing it more than her. She’d absolutely share this. And she couldn’t wait to read the book. She’d spent so much time in their library that sometimes she felt she’d gone through everything she already wanted to read. Her personal collection was small, although she tried changing it out whenever she could. There were plenty of books in her room back at home, which is where they tended to stay. She couldn’t bring just books to school, after all. She couldn’t really do a lot of shopping at the bookstore nowadays, either, but that was a different story.

DJ’s family really did sound fun and sweet. She didn’t have much time to think about that, though, because he decided to go ahead and compliment her again with such a big smile. Was it really that funny that she hadn’t dated someone before? Wait, no, that smile wasn’t a laughing one.

She did not understand him at all.

He called her pretty, which was weird but okay. She didn’t agree - well, sometimes she felt pretty, but most of the time she was more average than anything else. There were tons of prettier girls at Rocky Mountain International. Darlene, for example, was definitely the traditional kind of pretty. Remington was just… Remington.

She blushed more - something she didn’t think was possible - and shook her head a little. His story made her laugh, but she didn’t have a similar one to offer in return. “Nope. No one’s ever… I’m just not everyone’s type, I guess.” She shrugged, smiled a little. “It’s just not something that’s happened for me. Books and classwork are a lot easier to deal with than people most of the time.”
