We will never give up!

There was a moment where Remington wasn’t sure if the boy was going to try to argue her or not. Then, he apologized. The Draco smiled a little. She was absolutely relieved at the apology. While she could hold her own in an argument, she didn’t like to unless it was necessary.

Remington had been pretty well liked at her different Muggle schools. Well, as well liked as someone who changed schools every year or so because of her mom’s travel-heavy job and inability to decide if she should have magic or Muggle schooling. Every so often, she’d be on the receiving end of teasing or mocking from what her dad did for a living, which always made Remington livid. She could have a long or short fuse, depending on the situation. That one was a short fuse.

“Thanks,” she accepted his apology with a smile. Remington wasn’t usually an ‘I told you so’ kind of person (with strangers, anyway), so she didn’t say anything more about their interaction. When he stepped to one side, the curly haired girl matched him, moving the opposite way so he could get a chance to access the books, too.

“What are you looking for? Am I out of your way now?”

Remington answered the second question with a nod first. “I’m trying to read a new book every week, and I hadn’t read anything on spellwork yet. I guess I’m not looking for anything specific; I just want something to jump out at me.” She paused. “Not literally, though. Mom has a book that sometimes grows legs, and I really don’t want to deal with that again.” Her Muggle father tended to keep that book wrapped up in several belt-like things and in the back of their closet. Every so often, it escaped, which always led to a fun afternoon in the Burnham household.

“What about you?”
