Oh, son of a Banshee.

Kaye couldn’t remember when she started having a crush on Ruben. The first time they met, on Pearl Street, there had been some hard core flirting. It was actually a very similar day to the one they were having now. Both of them had ended up finding food together; Ruben did the leading to the food place that time. There’d even been a moment where she tried his weird ice cream and spit it out. She’d managed not to spit out his strange soup this time, so this was going way better than that first meeting.

She’d liked him and knew they’d get along after that day, but she didn’t think the crush started then. It was so gradual, and then suddenly it was there. Was it one of the times in the Aquila common room? They were always really close, both as friends (really fast) and physically, which was new for her. She loved to throw her legs over him; he took up the majority of their favorite couch, so it made sense. And it was easy.

She couldn’t pinpoint when it started, but… yeah, that made sense as a drug-fueled confession. She didn’t even realize it herself until right now, when Ruben told her what she said. It was like a few puzzle pieces had finally slid into the right place. She didn’t remember telling Ruben that she wanted to date, but it just made sense. Kaye couldn’t place a time when she ever had a crush on someone; this had to be what that was. Oh.

“So…?” Kaye didn’t try to mask how confused she looked. “This is… a date? You wanted to go on a date with me?” She didn’t know what to do or say, which was a very rare thing for the Aquila. “Am I on a date right now, Ruben? Because I’ve never done that before, so I’m gonna need, like, a hell of a lot of warning here. You want to date me, too?”

  • Oh good, so we're in agreement - Ruben, Sun Oct 22 17:18
Ruben snorted into his coffee. “Ouch.” Poor Marissa. She was nice, but not in an unbearable way, and had a damn fine body, and yet somehow she’d wound up on Kaye’s bad side. Or maybe those reasons he ... more

      • Whoops, that piece of bread seemed to have been the last finger in the dam. Ruben blinked once at the bread bowl, observing the quantity of soup now beginning to rush out of the side where his hungry ... more
        • Kaye desperately wanted to reach over and knock the bread out of Ruben’s hand. She hated being confused. She hated not being the one in the know. Not knowing how her own feelings were working right... more
          • Impossible - Ruben, Sun Oct 29 22:26
Kaye stopped glaring at him after his apology. He didn’t really mind either way (glaring was not an unwelcome behaviour to the Swede) but it was good to know that she’d been listening and took him... more
            • Don't you mean "I'm Possible" - Kaye, Tue Oct 31 20:39
Of course, that was the part he took hold of. Kaye rolled her eyes and waved her hand, as if trying to dismiss it. Her not being kissed before probably wasn’t a big deal. She was probably the only... more
