Hey Buddy

The real outdoors felt great. There was nothing like real sunshine and breeze. Being cupped up underground was something that Caleb sort of struggled with. It didnt felt like horrible or anything, but the knowledge that nothing was weather-like was real in the school shook him. He liked playing outside and having fun adventures and being underground sort of put limits to that. Well, there were the Secret Passageways, but it wasn't the same and they could get restrictive. There was nothing like being able to head towards a seemingly infinite forest on your broom without a worry in the world.

“Yes, Broomstick Dinner sounds epic,” Caleb agreed to Nolan’s first suggestion. The dinner was amazing and they served an amazing cheeseburger that made you spit fire for a second after finishing it. It was Caleb’s favorite because of the fire finish, and it was also super good. It was usually paired with some fries, but the blonde usually asked for a side of mac & cheese too. Not to mention that they had the most insane milkshakes in the whole of Boulder. There he had said it. His stomach started to grumble louder as his brain went over everything he was going to eat in a few minutes. Maybe he would order some an appetizer.

Caleb was brought out of his food fantasy the second Nolan addressed him. The blonde smiled in response, “Yeah, it was and since Santa Claus is still a thing because of Penny and Wesley, us older boys received more presents than usual.” He didn't know why, but his parents thought that they had to make it extra special. He wasn't complaining, though. He had received quite the loot! “But other than that we did the usual, we had christmas eve and christmas day at home with both families,” Caleb scratched hi head thinking. “We went caroling and we did the whole “Decorating the Tree” routine on the 22nd,” he finished with a smile. It had been quite a good christmas, but it was always a good christmas when his whole family was present, especially with his grandmothers involved.

“How about you?” he asked curiously as they reached the entrance of the Broomstick Dinner. Caleb opened the door the noise instant hit him further widening his smile as the smell of the food attacked his nose. Yes, they had arrived to heaven
