Who doesn't!

“Sure!” Nick said enthusiastically as Holland suggested they get ice cream. He was a fan of Finnigan’s Flavors (well, who wasn’t) and the weather was perfect for ice cream. “Gimme a sec though,” the bonde added, swinging his drawstring bag around and placing it on the ground so he could open it and carefully place the bag from the comic shop inside it. Once done, he picked the bag back up, slung it over his right shoulder, and turned to the younger student. “Okay, good to go,” he said, and began walking down Pearl Street towards the ice cream shop.

Holland was a little weird, in Nick’s opinion, and occasionally confusing because Nick did not find them unattractive, but they also didn’t...gender. He didn’t know how to put it, and he didn’t understand how that might factor into his understanding of his own sexuality, so he avoided thinking about it as much as possible. They were also weird in other ways, though; he was pretty sure that the fifth year unironically believed in actual aliens, and from conversations he’d had with them they were really into some other conspiracy theories too. Nick, like most reasonable people, considered conspiracy theories to be ridiculous. Not that he’d voice that opinion to Holland.

It was also a little awkward because Nick knew that Frankie had a crush on Holland. He felt as though he was responsible for being his buddy’s wingman, but at the same time Nick’s own crush on Frankie made it hard to encourage anyone else to be interested in the Lyra Quidditch Captain. Still, everything else aside, Nick wanted to be a good friend.

“I was just picking up some game stuff for Frankie and I,” Nick said. “Has he shown you how to play Magic the Gathering yet?” Getting Holland into Magic was a potentially fantastic way to encourage them to spend more time with Frankie.
