All right, Lucien was touchy tonight apparently. Nick fought the urge to roll his eyes as Lucien disregarded the option of bleach. It wasn’t exactly what Nick would suggest as a primary go-to, but unless his roommate wanted to spend the next two weeks imitating a mandrake, it wasn’t something to brush off that quickly. Sometimes when you put stuff on your skin that shouldn’t go on your skin, it took doing the same thing to put it right again. But whatever, Nick decided he would only snicker very quietly with Frankie if Lucien decided to forego actually looking like a person for the foreseeable future.

“I have years of coercion under my belt,” Nick informed Lucien with a grin. “Francine has been this into Halloween since around the time we started walking.” There was no real reason why, it wasn’t like their parents were huge fanatics about the holidays, but for whatever reason, Francine absolutely went bonkers every time they had the chance to dress up. Marissa Kendrick had actually managed to throw a costume ball at one point, and Nick’s twin had absolutely lost her mind with excitement at the chance to dress up for something that wasn’t Halloween.

“Oh also,” he added, as an afterthought, “Don’t try a scrubbing charm, you’ll just end up with green paint bubbles all over the place. It’s kind of a disaster.” Nick had never been dumb enough to try to spray paint his head, but he had managed to get a fair amount of spray paint on himself helping out with theater stuff for Director Tennant that he knew what not to do with that. It wasn’t that Nick really liked musical theater, but Director Tennant was always really great about giving him and Marissa, the two people most likely to pursue the arts as a career, the opportunity to build their resumes when he could. This year that had ended up with the pair choreographing Footloose, which was mostly hilarious in that they both hated musicals. The choreo itself was turning out all right, especially for working with a bunch of kids who didn’t dance.

Nick noticed Lucien looking around, and followed his lead. Maybe Francine was lost in the crowd or something? Or she’d gotten distracted on her way to find Lucien. Or both.

“So did she make you play the game before dressing up?” the Draco asked his roommate, curious.

  • Good for you. - Lucien, Tue Jan 31 20:03
Lucien couldn’t tell whether his roommate’s remark about paint toxicity was out of genuine concern, in large part because Nick looked like he was on the verge of laughter. His annoyance at this was... more

            • ....No. - Lucien, Wed Feb 1 23:35
“You think so? Can’t wait to be enlightened,” Lucien responded, his sarcasm deadpan like usual. It was therefore likely only semi-recognizeable as being sarcastic, which was again something quite... more
