I would love some company!

Sara had never considered herself an antisocial person, in fact, she loved having friends and everything that entailed, but school had taken precedence. So, when Petra, another fellow second-year, sat beside her a smile graced her face lightening it up. The Lyra was ready to start making friends, and Petra was the first candidate within reach. It was nice to know that she didn't run away from her and decided to accompany her, at least for a few minutes. Who knew. Sara mentally shrugged, but the smile remained on her face.

The Lyra scooted over to give her new friend (hopefully!) more space to enjoy the water and the surrounding amenities. The hosts of the party had really outdone themselves, and Sara was glad she had decided to come. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter and the promise of fun. Sara loved it. She felt relaxed, at ease and it showed as she leaned backwards on her hands.

The Lyra sighed contentedly and looked over at Petra, “yes!” Sara replied to the other girl’s statement with a grin. Her legs began moving a bit more quickly around making small splashes as they broke the water. “I have always enjoyed a good day at the beach,” Sara bit her lip for a second, “but also the pool. Being in water is just so very relaxing!” she finally exclaimed excitedly. Her eyes began wandering around them to find people doing different beach activities and she loved it. However, they stopped wandering when they reached the waterfall. The sound of the water hitting water reminded her of the summers her father had taken her exploring some obscure and interesting jungles and forests. “You know,” she looked at Petra with a smile, “My father says that if you are ever lost somewhere the safest bet to survival is finding drinkable water, like a stream or river or lake,” she finished knowingly.

Sara didn't know a lot, but she knew a lot about animals and survival. Her father had made sure his only child grew up loving nature just like he had, and the twelve-year old was keen to follow his footsteps.
