I'm glad to hear it!

Petra was slightly relieved to find that the other girl really was talking to her. For a moment or two as she sat she thought maybe she was wrong, like, maybe she hadn’t actually heard the other girl. But no, an enthusiastic yes met her comment about water and an even bigger grin broke out over the blonde’s face. She dipped her feet into water, watching the itchy sand disappear from her feet. That was definitely a plus to preferring the water. “Water is the best part of the beach,” Petra said, sort of agreeing with the girl’s statement about enjoying the beach. “I like it more than the sand.”

Her mind was still wandering a bit, displeased by the sand that she could still feel clinging to her skin. Some people appeared to be enjoying the sand, others staying in the water, and a choice few hovering around the snack bar. Petra couldn’t help but think that this was the most relaxed she’d seen some people, but that wasn’t really her place to say. She kicked her feet a little in the water, enjoying the feel of water between her toes as Sara spoke. At least, she was pretty sure it was Sara.

“That makes sense, I think,” Petra said with a nod, remembering something that Helena had once said. Something about being able to live longer without food than water. It was a strange thought to even have to live without either, but that was Helena’s muggle job. She worked with some people who couldn’t get food or other things that Petra didn’t even have to think about having. “My big sister said that a person could live longer without food than water.” She said, supplying the conversation further. “But I don’t think I could!”

The cool water was lapping at her calves now, and Petra scooted further towards the edge so that her legs could be more in the water. She kicked her legs a little more, smiling brightly. “You’re Sara, right?” she said, looking over at her companion. “I’m very bad with names and faces. Mama says I need to get better at it because it’s polite but at least I know more than Hugo! He probably wouldn’t even remember a person if he saw them everyday!”
