Silas grinned as the boy said his name slowly and with an English accent. Mom had said when she had gone here there were students from all over the world. So it didn’t surprise Silas but the kid did have a nifty accent. On top of the accent, the kid had a pretty awesome name, Dade. He then said he was in Cetus and also a second year. Silas was about to comment on that when Dade asked what he was doing here.

“Do you mean in the pool?” Silas asked with a look of perplexity on his face. The Headmaster hadn’t said anything about him not being allowed in the Rec Center or Pool, in fact, the man had encouraged it. Though the headmaster had encouraged a great many things to try in the school.

Silas looked down at the bottom of the pool where the kid’s goggles were laying. “Also it seems you dropped your goggles.” He said as he pointed at them from where he was. He swam a bit closer to Dade hoping his year mate would lighten up a bit.

The second year was careful to not splash as he moved in the water towards the other boy. Whenever he and his two brothers would swim he would try to splash and dunk them but Dade seemed like he would not appreciate getting rowdy in water. Or getting rowdy ever, which was probably slightly a prejudice because of Dade’s accent. Every time Silas heard an English accent on the TV it was always some rich kid who hated to get dirty so in his mind that meant all English people hated to get dirty.

It was early Saturday, and Dade had snuck out of the Cetus commons without his brother’s notice. He wasn’t feeling particularly like doing anything, including studying, which meant he didn’t want to... more

Ugh. Why was everyone (except Remington) at this school stupid? Of course Dade didn’t mean his question to be about Silas’s presence in the pool. It made sense for someone to be in a pool, usually.... more

Silas watched as the kid bent over oddly and retrieved his goggles. The way Dade had said that he could do it seemed like he was afraid that Silas would steal them or something. Why would the grey... more

“That’s stupid,” Silas was asking him about how long he’d been at RMI, but Dade was fixated on the idea of a black Yeti. “The whole point of Yetis is that they’re white and blend into the snow.... more
