“Like, does it make the visual look weird?” Marissa realized she was talking to Danny, who despite being a Lyra, wasn’t exactly the most useful when it came to blocking. He didn’t do shows or participate in Drama Club, even though at least one or do people in their friend group teased him about joining every so often. He had no idea what she was talking about.

“I’m working on choreography for Footloose,” she explained, “And it’s me and three other girls. I’m worried that the picture is going to look weird. The stage picture. That’s a thing, I swear.”

Marissa hopped off of the table and made her way to the edge of the stage. Once she reached the lip of the stage, she sat down. Her legs, bare except what her short floral lace shorts covered, dangled and gently started to swing back and forth. She liked Danny. They were friends, he was fun, and he was always good at listening to her. If Danny expressed an actual interest in her, outside of the friendly teasing and flirting, she’d share that interest. Marissa was aware that people thought she’d make out or fool around with just anyone, which was only a little true. She had standards, and when it came to something real…she definitely had standards. And Danny fell under those.

Not that he had said anything to indicate any actual interest.

He explained the whole book thing, and she struggled to remember exactly what book he was talking about. A book for potions…? Oh, right, the book sitting on her bedside table. She’d originally gotten it to work on her Potions assignment, but she got frustrated and stopped working on it a couple of days ago. She could probably give the book to Danny and just live with her mediocre grade. It’s what she usually did.

“I guess if you need me to watch while you dance on a table then I could make that sacrifice.”

Marissa blinked and raised her eyebrows. The red head knew that he was teasing, but she couldn’t help the playful grin that spread across her face. “I mean, I’m bound to be more interesting than Potions,” she replied, “But it’s really hard to do this by myself.” She took the other earbud out of her ear, cutting off the music that had been playing their whole conversation. She allowed Danny her full attention. “The Potion book is in my room, so…wanna hang out anyway, and I’ll bring it to you at dinner?”

      • Hey kettle, it's the pot calling - Dardanius, Tue Jan 31 06:52
Of course Marissa was more interesting than potions homework, that didn't exactly need to be clarified. On the other hand, Danny did need to do his potions assignment to obtain a passing grade, he... more
        • I think I'll just let it ring - Marissa, Tue Jan 31 14:25
She flashed Danny a very bright smile when he agreed to stay. She knew he would. Potions could be interesting, but Marissa thought that only applied if they were in class with Rob. Danny may not have ... more
          • Rude. - Danny, Wed Feb 1 06:55
Since even Marissa was calling the musical stupid, Danny wondered how she expected him to be interested. He did his best to listen to her synopsis of the plot, and only zoned out a couple of times.... more
            • You don't really think I'm rude - Marissa, Thu Feb 2 19:04
Marissa started thinking of other shows she would rather do than Footloose . The problem, which Garen always pointed out to her, was that her desires weren’t school appropriate. Marissa liked shows... more
              • That depends on your next post - Danny, Fri Feb 3 06:55
For just a moment it seemed as though Marissa was going to interpret his comment they way it had been intended, vis-à-vis stage kissing. But then she sat up, and said “Have you ever- wait, you’ve... more
                • I'll wait and see how you feel - Marissa, Fri Feb 3 12:36
She waited for Danny to answer. It was almost suspenseful. There was no way that Danny hadn’t kissed anyone before. They were teenagers at a small school, though. If he had, wouldn’t she have heard... more

Marissa scooted a little closer, and Danny tried not to be too concerned by her proximity. He still hadn’t forgotten that time in DADA. He vaguely wondered whether she might have teased him in that... more

Marissa did think Danny was sweet. He was great, really. She could always trust Danny for some kind of laugh. They teased and flirted all the time. He really was one of her best friends at RMI. Rose, ... more

                        • I think we're both pretty unique - Marissa, Sat Feb 4 15:48
It didn’t look like Danny was going to kiss her, and Marissa couldn’t help but be disappointed by that. She wasn’t the type of person to push someone if they said no; it wasn’t her style. People just ... more

He hadn’t even realised that he wanted to have this conversation with someone, but now that it had happened, Danny was glad about it. He didn’t think his kissing habits, or lack thereof, would ever... more
