Of course Marissa was more interesting than potions homework, that didn't exactly need to be clarified. On the other hand, Danny did need to do his potions assignment to obtain a passing grade, he didn't really need to do Marissa… er, help Marissa. That sounded weird, even in his head. He blamed her for that, because not that long ago he’d thought she had been about to kiss him, and he still wasn't sure how he felt about that. Luckily, it had turned out she was just teasing him, which he should have expected - he and Marissa tended to communicate best by teasing, flirting with and mocking each other. For Danny it didn't mean anything, and he had always assumed Marissa was on the same metaphorical page. “The Potion book is in my room, so…wanna hang out anyway, and I’ll bring it to you at dinner?”

Feeling it would be rude, churlish and dull to say no to that offer, Dardanius shrugged. “Yeah, okay,” he replied. So much for being productive. Well, maybe he could try and offer some advice, as novice as it might be; he was hardly a theatrical expert. “And you did look a bit tall,” he added, seeing as she had asked his opinion. “It depends how much attention you want to draw to yourself.” Knowing Marissa, probably a lot - they both had that in common - but he didn't know anything about the play so couldn't be more helpful than that.

“What's the show about?” He asked to be polite, rather than out if any genuine interest. “I mean, I don't actually care,” he clarified with a smirk, “but if I'm going to help with the stage picture,” he used air quotes around the words, “it might help to know.” It wasn't that he had no interest in theatre - he always came to see the shows - he just didn't have any real desire to be involved. He wasn't a great singer, not an especially talented dancer, and he didn't often respond well to direction. Plus he already had classes and Quidditch, and he didn't really want to give up all his free time; he enjoyed doing nothing, sometimes.

It didn’t look like Danny was going to kiss her, and Marissa couldn’t help but be disappointed by that. She wasn’t the type of person to push someone if they said no; it wasn’t her style. People just ... more
