Claudia had returned from midterm relaxed and refreshed, ready to face the second instalment of her second year at RMI. I'm the break from classes she had continued to read ahead in her textbooks and make perfect her holiday homework assignments, but she also enjoyed engaging in shopping trips with her mother to restock her wardrobe - the powder blue, floor-length robes with delicate lace overlay on the bodice and cuffs was one of her many new outfits - , enjoying firelit evenings debating politics with her father, and spending New Year’s Eve at a street party in New Orleans with her brother and cousin.

Despite maintains her studies at home, the Dubois library was not so useful as the RMI library when faced with homework research. Studious by nature, Claudia had soon checked out a pile of relevant texts and was carrying them back across the Cetus commons when a younger student sprawled across the floor in front of her. She was thankful that she saw him before she trod on or tripped over the other student, which would have culminated in an unfavourable pile of books and limbs.

Claudia hesitated. She would normally be quick to help, but her arms were otherwise occupied by three large volumes and two smaller textbooks. She felt bad when the boy - she could almost remember his name but not quite - looked up at her. “Are you okay?” She asked awkwardly around her pile of books.

Now, normally for a boy of his age, Alistair would be a little more embarrassed for a girl to see him sprawled out on the floor in the manner in which he was. He remembered that other boys at his... more

The other student professed to be alright, and he got up to prove it. Claudia was relieved, and hoped he didn't think her rude for not putting down her text books and offering assistance. “I’m glad... more
